Michael Burritt Ensemble Series

Deep, Clear, Versatile – The Michael Burritt Ensemble Series is an incredibly versatile series designed to excel in musical settings ranging from solo, to chamber, and ensembles of all sizes. The mallets deliver a warm, woody tone that is robust and round while still providing the strong articulation required to cut through the ensemble.

While there is strong continuity of color throughout the entire line, the harder mallets deliver clarity and transparency with a bit of ‘bite.’ They are complimented by softer mallets that offer rich, dark, and round lows while still being remarkably focused and clear.

Additionally, the weighting of the mallets have a nice ‘throw’ that allows you to play though the bar with ease, resulting in a bigger sound with less effort.

Mark Boseman Go2 Series

The Malletech MBO12 Mark Boseman Go2 Marimba mallet is ideal for an array of literature where a wide range of dynamics, timbres, and articulations is required without the need to change mallets.  The medium-weight oval head combined with a proprietary multi-tonal ‘wrap recipe’ allows the mallets to sing, giving players ultimate expressive control.  The design encourages performers to utilize a greater sense of touch to activate a limitless combination of tonal colors.  The mallets are medium in weight and produce a lush, warm sound that is darker at lower dynamic levels transitioning to a brighter color at higher dynamic levels.

Chien Chien Lu Series

The Malletech CCL13 vibraphone mallet delivers a rich, warm tone while also providing effortless projection without the unwanted harsh tones typically associated with higher volume mallets. The shaft length has been specifically designed to make both 2 and 4 mallet playing comfortable and the overall weight of the mallet is heavy enough to get a rich, lush sound on more lyrical passages and ballads but not too heavy to sacrifice the agility needed on up-tempo tunes.

Joe Locke Series

Joe Locke has spent decades touring the world as a bandleader, composer, and vibraphone soloist, using his music to speak to a wide spectrum of listeners. It’s no surprise that Joe designed his new signature mallet series to articulate exactly what he wants to say. Three different “voices” comprise the Joe Locke series, giving every vibraphonist the perfect tools to express themselves.

Stefon Harris Albright Series

The first three models were tweaked into their current form by Stefon Harris to make a series of soft, medium hard, and hard, that could also be used in a graduated set. Albright mallets also feature substantially larger heads than other models that Malletech offers.

“I just recorded with Diana Krall. These new Albrights are amazing live and in the studio. I couldn’t have predicted the dramatic effect that a mallet has on one’s ability to make music. Recently, I’ve had some of my most inspired performances and that’s clearly related to these mallets!”

Dave Samuels Series

The DS11 and DS18 mallets have a unique, bronze core that “kicks in” for greater projection.  The DS10H and DS19Hs are significantly larger to bring out more fundamental.

Escape Ten Series

The new Malletech Escape Ten Series is a collection of keyboard mallets purpose-built for ensemble playing. Designed and optimized over several years in chamber settings from duos to large ensembles, each model is “tuned” to speak its special voice through the musical texture. Adjacent models, though close in Malletech hardness rating (10,12,14,16), have distinct contact and timbral characters so that 10s and 12s can be distinguished even when playing in the same range.

Dennis DeLucia Signature Model

Four snare drum sticks that are designed and sized for every hand in your snare drum line. The EM-DD model features an ergonomic taper at the butt end for great balance and feel. All of the sticks are finished in a great feeling, white, semi-gloss lacquer.

Fred Hinger Touch-Tone™ Timpani Series

Fred Hinger (1920-2001) was recognized throughout the world as one of the great percussion authorities and instrument designers. He was one of the most innovative players, teachers and product designers in the history of percussion. His students can be found in major orchestras, chamber groups and teaching positions around the world. He had the distinction of holding two of the world’s premier orchestral timpani positions: The Philadelphia Orchestra and The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra of New York. He headed the percussion departments at both Yale University and Manhattan School of Music.

These mallets incorporate some of Fred Hinger’s patented design features, which set them apart from any other mallets on the market today. The highest quality German felt is hand-sewn in the tradition of the original Hinger Timpani mallets. With eight models, two styles of handles and the ability to adjust the feel and touch of the mallet, the Hinger Touch-Tone™ mallets give an unlimited palette of sounds to the performer.

The patented weight system on the Pro-Custom 1 aluminum handles allows the performer to instantly adjust the feel, balance, and sound characteristics of the mallet. Sliding the weights forward produces the fundamental tone response of a much heavier stick. The 5/8-inch, thin-wall aluminum shaft has the lightness of a bamboo handle, the stiffness of a hardwood handle and the consistency pair-to-pair that only a man-made product can achieve.

For those who prefer a very lightweight wooden handle, the Pro-Custom™ 3 line offers the same superb craftsmanship on a 5/8-inch diameter maple wood stick. Weights and/or grips can be added separately, if the player so desires.

Bob Becker Series

Designed for solo xylophone use, both of Bob’s original blue and burgundy plastic models remain best sellers. They are light, similarly weighted and easy to maneuver quickly around the instrument. The rattan handle diameters are 7.5 to 8 mm on the BB32 and 7.1 to 7.5 mm on the BB34. These mallets will not damage rosewood bars in any way. Bob’s two new rubber models are extra heavy rubber, producing powerful, pure xylophone tone without the contact noise usually associated with rubber mallets. These four models, all clustered between 26 and 34, give the serious xylophonist an unprecedented range of tonal shadings.

Ed Smith Series

A two-year research process produced a model that hits the exact sweet sound spot for a medium hard vibe mallet. Three internal components with a two-layer winding program. Clarity without clank.

Tony Miceli Series

The Tony Miceli vibraphone mallet received a facelift in 2024. It now uses a rainbow-colored wool/acrylic blend yarn, and still features its signature “sparkle” tape. It’s a unique look, but its sound is right in the pocket for general use.

Mike Mainieri Series

World-renowned jazz star for decades, Mike’s two mallets are a major component of his signature sound. Vibrant fuschia, 100% nylon yarn for long wear, cutting power and vivid appearance. 8.5 to 9 mm rattan.

Marta Klimasara Series

The Marta Klimasara series is unique because of a bronze weight that is embedded inside the round, plastic core. The mallets in this series are heavy and suitable for traditional grip players and Stevens technique players who have well-developed hands. They are wound with a very fine wool/synthetic blend, producing an unusually warm, but nuanced range of sounds.

Kevin Bobo Series

The Kevin Bobo mallets are grouped closely together, spanning hardness levels 8 to 14. They are wound with an extremely durable, thin nylon yarn, very tight, with an unusually high number of winds. They produce a deep, consistent tone through a wide dynamic range with clear articulation even at very low dynamic levels.

Leigh Howard Stevens Series

The models in the Stevens line are the smoothest rolling mallets for solo marimba playing available anywhere in the world. Each model has four to six distinct layers of construction which work with the player to generate maximum bar sound, minimize contact noise and offer superb, low-dynamic control, all without sacrificing any high volume potential. They are medium weight, perfectly balanced and therefore easy to maneuver through today’s challenging solo literature. A set of 1s, 5s and 10s are all you need for the Bach Cello Suites. Select birch handles.

Michael Burritt Series

Michael is head of the percussion program at the Eastman School of Music and is interntionally respected as a marimba virtuoso, composer and teacher. The Michael Burritt Series is built around 1-1/8-inch diameter natural rubber cores. All of the models also have one or more additional layers of latex rubber for a more complex, multi-toned response pattern. All models are wrapped with a custom synthetic yarn that has been designed to have great durability and just a touch of contact “chiff” for the cutting power Michael requires. All models feature select birch shafts.

Eric Sammut Series

Eric is a star of both the jazz and classical marimba world. He is noted for his unique and expressive compositional and improvisational style. His mallets feature a distinctive orange yarn and unusually medium – heavy heads for a very full, round sound, even at low dynamic levels.

Blake Tyson Series

The Blake Tyson mallets offer great expressive potential. They respond to subtle changes of touch, and their depth of sound and sensitive response help to create an amazing variety of timbres and articulation. Durable wool-blend yarn.

Andy Harnsberger Go2 Series

Everybody’s got their favorite mallet — the one they reach for when warming up or reading through new literature. The difference is that we asked these artists to design their Go2 mallet — from the core out. Take a look at Andy Harnsberger’s (Associate Professor of Percussion, Lee University) Go2 mallet.

Scott Herring Go2 Series
