Les Percussions de Strasbourg

Tâm studied percussion at the Conservatoire Régional de Nice in the class of Jacques CARRE where he was graduated in June 1999. He continued his studies at the Superior National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Lyon with Jean GEOFFROY. He obtained his Diploma in June 2003.

During these years of studies he founded with Yi-Ping YANG and Raphael AGGERY, the trio YARN. They won in February 2002, 1st Prize International Competition Percussion Trio of Luxembourg. The same year, he obtained solo, a 2nd Prize at the International Competition for Vibraphone in Clermont-Ferrand.

2003 also was the start of a story that is still going on with the company a Arcosm and their first show “Echoa,” directed by dancer Thomas GUERRY and percussionist/composer Camille ROCAILLEUX. On stage, dance and percussion meet, probe, and are based in each other with as much humor as poetry. The success Echoa leads his performers to perform on many national scenes ( La Maison de la Danse in Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille, Montpellier, Lille, Paris) and international (London, Lisbon, Brussels, Moscow, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Wellington, New Zealand) and in many festivals abroad.

Assistant Professor at the Conservatoire Régional de Nice in 2003, then as Professor at the Conservatoire of Limeil-Brévannes in 2006, he teaches, from 2008 to 2016, at the Conservatoire Régional de Toulon Provence Méditerranée .

Tâm is soloist and Artistic Director of Les Percussions de Strasbourg and teaches as the Superior National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Lyon since 2015 where he became the main teacher in September 2021.

He was named Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres from the French Minister of Culture.
