Percussion Artist and Educator
Melanie Voytovich is a contemporary percussionist and educator located in the Pacific Northwest. She is currently working at West Side Music Academy and often gives clinics at local schools and Day of Percussion events.
Dedicated to encouraging innovation and collaboration, she pioneered the Washington State New Works for Percussion project, focused on commissioning new repertoire for percussion. She is also the Chapter President of the Washington State Percussive Arts Society and is currently working to expand its reach and influence throughout the state.
In the last few years, Melanie has performed with groups such as the Seattle Modern Orchestra, Universal Language Project, Plexure Trio and Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, among many others. She has also performed at festivals such as the Seattle Symphony’s Day of Music and the Lincoln Center Out of Doors festival. Performances have taken her across the United States, as well as internationally to China.
Melanie is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Washington and is ABD. She previously earned a Master of Music degree in Performance at SUNY Buffalo and a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education at The Hartt School.
